Aidan’s 4th Birthday Party!!

We had Aidan’s party a couple of weeks ago at the fire station in Trussville and it was an AWESOME party!!!  I highly recommend this as an idea for your next party.  The kids really enjoyed the fire trucks and Sparky the fire dog.  The adults really enjoyed the magician.  All in all – I think everyone had a ton of fun!!!

I’ve been playing around with Picasa and have decided to start trying to create collages … so here is my first attempt at creating them.  Hope you enjoy the pictures!

Splash Pad in Gardendale

Ricky was off on July 3rd so we took the kiddos over to the Splash Pad in Gardendale.  It’s free and FUN!!!  The kids had a blast and here are some highlights.

As soon as we got there, I (as usual) had to nurse the baby.  So here is a shot of mommy…

Anson had a blast playing in the water … although it kept getting in his eye and he would run over, point to his eye and say “eye” to let us know it hurt him.

Aidan’s birthday

Aidan’s party isn’t until this Saturday, but on his birthday I bought him some cupcakes from Publix and we did a mini-celebration here with just the 6 of us.  He was THRILLED!

A couple of boys with faces full of icing!!!  Looks like they both enjoyed the cupcakes a lot, huh?  Austin was still eating dinner so there aren’t any pictures of him enjoying his cupcake.  By the time he finished dinner and was eating his, Aidan & Anson were being bathed!  They certainly needed a bath after they finished eating.

A typical boy – showing us the half-chewed up food in his mouth.  Nice, huh?

More pictures of Aidan’s 4th birthday to come after his fire station party this weekend … YAY!

Pictures from Anson’s injury

I’ve told some of you about Anson’s bad fall but haven’t really shown anyone the pictures – until now.  So, for those of you who don’t know what happened, let me fill you in.  Last Sunday (June 28th), Ricky, Austin & I were sitting down to finally eat lunch and Aidan & Anson were playing in their room.  They had been fighting a lot all morning so some screaming and fighting wasn’t anything unusual (isn’t unusual around here for any day to be honest).  I had Aspen in my arms checking her temperature – she was the latest in a long line sickies around here – when I heard Anson cry like I haven’t heard him cry before … blood curdling and DEEP breath afterwards.  Anyway, I headed straight for their room and Anson was coming out of the room with a BAD dent and bruise on the bridge of his nose.  I screamed for Ricky who took one look at him and said we needed to go to the doctor and have it checked out.  So, we headed to the pediatrician for him (and Aspen since she needed some meds for her snotty nose & fever).  The pediatrician said not much could be done for Anson right now but to keep an eye on him and see how his nose healed … that if he had trouble breathing after he was healed or his nose looked “off” then an ENT would have to check him out, possibly x-ray and possibly consider surgery.  We certainly hope it doesn’t come to that.  Anyway, you’ve waited long enough … here are the pictures from that day…

These were the best pictures I could get and honestly, they don’t even show how truly awful his nose looked.  It became so swollen and dark purple, it was just heartbreaking.  He is looking much better now.

Five days later (on Friday, July 3rd), Anson got smacked in the face by Aidan – this time, he had a bloody nose and had to go see the pediatric dentist after hours.  All is fine now … but Mommy & Daddy have decided to consult with a psychologist who specializes in behavior management.  I think we could use some help!
