Dog Daze in Trussville

We took the kiddos to Dog Daze a couple of weekends ago and they had so much fun.  We had almost decided not to go because it was sprinkling when we got there, but we decided to tough it out and see if the weather got better … and thankfully, it did!

Academy sponsored a fishing pool.

The boys enjoyed fishing and Austin actually caught a catfish and got a prize – a frisbee!

We moved on after that to the sports stuff.

Aidan trying to hit the baseball.

And Anson would go retrieve the balls.

p1050404

Then Austin hit a few.

p1050406

Anson wasn’t sure what to do … he was trying to “chop” the balls down instead of hit them.

After the baseball, we moved on to basketball – where Daddy helped the boys dunk the balls.

Here is Anson dunking his.

p1050420

And here’s Aidan dunking one.

Next was darts and here are all the boys throwing their darts.

While Aidan & Austin continued to play with the footballs, soccer balls and baseball, I took Anson for a little walk.  While on our walk, we saw Elmo and Anson was all smiles.  When I asked him to go stand by Elmo so I could take his picture…

p1050431

…he went and hugged Elmo!  It was TOO CUTE!!!

p1050436

Then he saw Daddy and went running towards him.

While I nursed Aspen, Daddy took the little boys on the carousel.

Looks like they enjoyed it.

After that, we ate lunch and planned to stay a little longer but it got too hot out so we headed for the van and took the kiddos home.

p1050448

And here they are headed for the car with their balloons – which made them happy enough to leave without too much trouble!

All in all – a great day and a lot of fun for the whole family!!!

Anson ate a chicken nugget!

Those of you who know Anson know that Anson NEVER eats meat.  So, when I came home from taking my Philosophy final and my good friend Mischa (who was staying with the kiddos) said Anson ate a chicken nugget, I couldn’t believe it.  She took pictures to prove it and here they are!

He hasn’t eaten chicken since then – and who knows if he ever will again!

Protective big brother

When we found out we were having a girl this time around, Ricky and I both said we thought Anson would be the most protective.  In fact, his “big brother” t-shirt says “Bodyguard for my little sister” (LOL) and wow, he is definitely protective.  I snapped these pictures one afternoon when he was “checking in” on her.

Isn’t he just too sweet?  He also comes running when she’s crying too much and tries to put the pacifier in her mouth … such a great big brother!

Well, Mommy duties call … time to nurse the baby and then start cooking dinner for the family.  Maybe I’ll be able to finish my postings (yes, I still have a few more posts to put out – I’m WAY behind!!) later this evening or tomorrow.

Hugs to all!

One month old

I snapped a couple of pictures of Aspen on May 3rd, the day she was one month old.  Of course, by now she is almost 7 weeks old … I’m so sorry I’m that far behind in posting updates on the family but I swear, I am trying to get better.  With 4 kids in the house, not much time for anything lately!

Isn’t she just precious???

Anson’s 2nd birthday painting

For Aidan’s birthday, we let him do a painting and I put his handprints and footprints on it so … of course we let Anson paint too!

p1050280

First the left foot …

p1050287

…and then the right!

p1050290

p1050293

Then the hands.

p1050306

So far, so good!  Time for Anson to paint …

p1050314

We started with marshmallows, just like Aidan did.  I soon figured out that Anson has to be more creative than that.  He just wasn’t enjoying painting with the marshmallows.  SOOO….

p1050318

…we gave him a paint brush and he unleashed his creative juices!!!

p1050321

p1050328

The finished product!

p1050332

And of course, when Anson finished his painting, we let both the little boys play in the paint!  And then Daddy took them straight to the bathtub!
